Are you a cat shop assistant or a shop cat assistant? We’re not entirely sure either... but if you like cats, cat-themed goods, and helping people, this may be the purrfect oppurrtunity for you!

As a Cat Shop Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day operations of our cat-themed boutique and cat adoption room. What does this mean? Well, you're basically just a bunch of cats in a trench coat—customer service pro, meowchandise specialist, content creator, e-commerce wizard, and cat wrangler all in one.

 

What You'll Do

Retail & Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers shopping for cat supplies and meowchandise
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store
  
• Guide applicants through the adoption process
• Answer inquiries in purrson, and via phone and email
• Communicate/coordinate with volunteers
• Receive shipments and merchandise products
• Stock and label shelves
  

Cat Care & Cleaning

• Diligently clean and sanitize cat areas
• Feed and monitor the health of cats in our adoption room
• Scoop litter boxes and clean any cat-astrophes
• Provide basic grooming and medications as needed
  

Social Media & e-Commerce

• Create and post content for multiple social media channels
• Pack and ship online orders
• Create and edit product listings
• Help identify and correct inventory or product errors
• Prepare and place inventory orders
  

 

We Need Someone Who Is...

• Reliable and punctual
• Friendly and professional
• Comfortable working alone in a retail setting
• Comfortable working with cats and performing basic care tasks
• Open to learning, trying new things, and taking feedback
• Physically capable of performing the job duties (cleaning, lifting boxes, etc.)

Bonus Points

• Good sense of smell (seriously—it helps in a cat lounge!)
• Previous work in retail, sales, or customer service
• Experience using Shopify, Square, or Canva
• Experience in rescues or shelter environments
• Familiarity with small business operations
• A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (for markets/pop-up events)
